Who we are

What we collect

• When you ask for a quote or place an order: your first and last name, email address, mobile number, delivery address, and the devices and quantities you choose.
• When you use the TopTraq app: your username, the devices on your account, and the information the tracking platform reports for them: location, movement over the last 24 hours, battery level and alerts. Your password is never stored as you type it, only in scrambled (hashed) form.
• When you pay online: the amount, date, status and PayFast's reference. Your card and bank details go straight to PayFast and never reach us.
• When you visit the website: anonymous visit statistics (which pages are used and where visitors leave the checkout), and the technical address (IP) of the device that reached our server.

What you must give us, and what is optional

To quote and deliver, we need your name, a way to reach you (email and mobile) and a delivery address. Without them we cannot supply a device. Everything else is optional.

Why we use it

Only to quote, supply and deliver your devices, to run your TopTraq app account, to support you, and to help recover your assets. We do not sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who processes it for us

• Afrihost hosts this website and the TopTraq app in South Africa.
• Our tracking platform provider runs the platform your devices report to, and holds their location history.
• Afrisist, our recovery partner, receives your name, mobile number, the device and its last known location, and only when you ask for a recovery.
• PayFast processes online payments.
• Meta (WhatsApp) carries your quote request if you choose to send it by WhatsApp. Meta processes messages outside South Africa.
• Google provides the website's visit statistics and its fonts, and processes this outside South Africa. Your IP address is shortened before it is stored.

How we protect it

Every connection to this website and the TopTraq app is encrypted. App passwords are stored only in hashed form, and sign-in is paused for a while after too many failed attempts. Only authorised Top Traq staff, signed in to a protected staff console, can see customer information.

Cookies

The website uses Google Analytics cookies to count visits. We use no advertising cookies. The TopTraq app uses one essential cookie that keeps you signed in.

How long we keep it

Quote and order records are kept for as long as tax law requires. Your app account and its devices are kept while the account is open. Location history is kept for 90 days. You can ask us to close your account and delete your information at any time, except what the law requires us to keep.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to its use. Email our Information Officer at privacy@top-traq.com and we will respond.
